The SRS Signature Durian Trip was finally a reality on 24th June 2023 after two months of planning & execution.
Two full coach loads of 88 members & friends who registered for this event had gathered at UOB Kay Hian premises. The participants were punctual & we left for Singapore Immigration promptly at 7.30 am.
We planned this event on a Saturday so as to avoid the traffic jam at the causeway as the following day Sunday would be the end of the half-year Singapore School Holidays. It went well as planned as there was no jam at all for Coaches at both the Singapore & Johor Immigrations.
The first stop was at Pekan Nanas Gao Deng Food Court for breakfast. Thereafter, we proceeded to NICTAR Pineapple Park which happened to have a small carnival organised by the Malaysian Tourism Board. They had many varieties of Pineapples & eco-friendly products made from the waste.
We then proceeded to the highlight of the Trip, Durians of course, to the Durian Plantation at Yong Peng. We savoured many varieties of Durians such as Mao Sang Wang, Black Thorn, Red Prawn, D13, D2 etc. Rambutans, Chempedak & Water Melons were also provided.
Thereafter, we took a short ride to Ming Ang for Restroom facilities & shopping on a vast array of snacks. We then proceeded to Uncle Brown Local Products outlet to do more shopping of local products & beverages.
Then we were off to Mid Valley Southkey shopping centre to do, what else, more shopping of course!
At about 6.45 pm, we left for our final stop to have our Seafood Dinner at Delicious 8 Restaurant at Masai. The Participants really enjoyed the Dinner and the Restaurant truly lived to it's name.
After the sumptuous Dinner, we had a half hour stroll along the bay. The view was simply magnificient with all the twinkling colourful lights & the beautiful reflections on the bay.
At about 9.00 pm we left Masai for Singapore. Guess what? Again there was no jam at both the Malaysia & Singapore Immigrations. In the words of our Tour Group Leader, Ms Ipoh, she said that we're a really bunch of "Lucky People" & the trip was really pleasant & went very smoothly & the participants really enjoyed the whole trip. The Participants were also very cooperative & had gathered at the various locations punctually at the scheduled times.
They're already looking forward to next year's SRS Durian Trip. We're happy that the Participants had a great time & watch this space on future SRS events.
